Some important items from the Chapter President:

Hello all,

First, let me say that it is an honor to have recently assumed the duties of President of this great chapter. I look forward to working with you all in the months to come and carrying on the tradition of great accomplishment the D.C. Chapter is known for. I would like to thank CWO Sean Fennell for his outstanding leadership during his tenure as President and the detailed pass down he gave me in preparation of assuming the office. At the June meeting we also swore in our new Secretary and Treasurer. CWO Jerry Brown assumed the duties of Secretary and our new Treasurer is CWO Michael Ford. Another big thank you goes out to CWO Joanne Stevens and CWO Bill Dodson for their efforts while serving as Secretary and Treasurer. We have a lot of great things scheduled in the coming months and I hope to see you all at TISCOM on Coast Guard Day as many of our fellow Warrants prepare to get soaked in the Dunk Tank!

Hot Dog Sell Fundraiser: We are looking to have a hot dog sell-fundraiser on 29 Jan. 2007 at CGHQ and Jemal Bldg. The goal is to raise funds to support our local CWOA Chapter’s holiday activities. We will need plenty of volunteers to cook and sell hot dogs. If anyone is interested in helping out e-mail CWO Jerry Brown. More information to follow.

Fall / Winter Clothing Drive: The Washington DC Chapter of the CWOA is sponsoring a clothing drive to support two shelters in the local area. Martha’s Table and So Others Might Eat (S.O.M.E.) provide food and clothing to thousands of residents and homeless persons in our city. This effort will help them through the coming winter. Your contribution is sincerely needed and will be greatly appreciated. If anyone is interested in helping out e-mail CWO Brent Light. See below flyer.

Monthly Dues: Thank to all CWOs who recently started Allotments and made Cash Payments of dues – your support is appreciated. Dues and contributions can be paid at anytime. Yearly cost $24 (Check/Cash). Association Information

The Washington DC Chapter is comprised of Chief Warrant and Warrant Officers from throughout the Washington DC area. The association holds meetings on the first Wednesday of every month. The meetings are held at either the HQ building or at Ballston, Virginia.

Check out our new Chapter Vision Statement. One of the Chapters goals is to hit at least one of the major points of the statement at least once a quarter. In order to do this we need the support of everyone who is a member of the Chapter.
